Good Fight Of Faith Accountability Groups

(Emblem Exposition)

We have adopted facets and symbols of our emblem from the U.S. Military to define the mandate and modus operandi the Lord has discharged to us as a ministry.

Good Fight of Faith’s modality hinges on 2nd Cor.1:5-7, where those who have realized victory in overcoming life-controlling issues are now qualified to instruct and encourage others from their experience.  In the extrication process from bondage and oppression, we are “not unaware of his schemes”:  therefore, our strategic approach to dismantling ensconced ways of thinking is deliberate and aggressive.   We were unwitting insurgents to a Kingdom we postured to advance; we now become assets to propagating the Kingdom of Heaven through obedience.  The Spiritual axiom of “walking in the Light” is now acted on as a way of life not as an elective, but as a command.  This is our counterinsurgency to a status quo of relating, foisted upon us through the “empty way of life handed down to us by our forefathers”.  This status quo indeed has found its way, via passivity, into the church.  Conscious relational passivity is overt rebellion in a Kingdom that commands transparency.

EMBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The scroll/shield is in the shape and style of the Special Forces unit crest with the Latin inscription “DE OPPRESSO LIBER”, translated “From Oppression We Will Liberate Them”, along with a single arrow that signifies stealth and trueness.  The symbol of two crossed arrows was originally prescribed by the U.S. Armed Forces for wear by Indian Scouts (from 1890 to 1920), and are used presently as insignia for Special Forces.  The lightning bolt, crossed in conjunction with the single arrow, signifies speed and stealth by which our belligerent intent is executed and expressed.  The horse represents the knight in chess for its mobility and indirect attack and the Trojan horse for its unconventional warfare in striking by surprise within enemy territory (Judges 3:12-30).  This symbol is currently used by the U.S. military to illustrate Psychological Operations.

The unsheathed sword signifies Spiritual combat readiness with the Word of Truth (Eph. 6:17b, Rev1:16.).  At the base of the sword is the emblem of Command Sergeant Major.  His function is described as having counsel that is “expected to be calm, settled and accurate – with unflagging enthusiasm.  Supplies recommendations to the commander and staff, and … {a}ssists officers at the brigade level.” (U.S. Army Command, the Pentagon).  This symbol is emblematic of a posture that does not assume authority over men’s lives.  Any authority extended is the authority earned  from those we serve.  Also, we do not function in any individual’s life apart from their local church and its leadership.  G.F.F. functions in the role of veteran advisor to the church as a minister of helps, and not without its own board of veteran advisors recognized as such by the regional Christian community so that “… everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.”  (1st Cor. 14:40)

The flame at the tip of the sword represents zeal imparted by the Holy Spirit.
